CHILDREN’S CAMP

Pocono Mountains

NESTLED WITHIN THE POCONO MOUNTAINS OF PENNSYLVANIA, CAMP ARROWHEAD INTEGRATES THE SURROUNDING NATURE INTO THE INTERIOR DESIGN. CAMP ARROWHEAD'S LOGO DEMONSTRATES HOW THE OVERALL DESIGN INCORPORATES THE SURROUNDING VIEWS OF NATURE. THE SPACE IS AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO BE ADA COMPLIANT AND UNIVERSALLY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL CAMPERS AND STAFF. TO ACHIEVE THIS, THE SPACIOUS ACTIVITY CENTER INCLUDES A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE RAMP TO ACCESS THE STAGE, BATHROOMS WITH A FIVE FOOT TURNING RADIUS, AND ACCESSIBLE WATER FOUNTAINS. THE WARM, INVITING ENVIRONMENT IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE USE OF NATURE AS INSPIRATION, EARTH TONES, NATURAL WOOD FURNITURE, AND LAYERED TEXTURES TO CREATE A BLEND OF SOUTHWESTERN AND ARTS AND CRAFTS DESIGN STYLES. THE SPACE WILL INCORPORATE NATURAL DAYLIGHT AND LED LIGHTING FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY. THE DURABLE AND CLEANABLE MATERIALS WILL MIX TEXTURE AND PATTERN TO PROVIDE HARMONY AND UNITY THROUGH VARIETY. THE FIRST FLOOR OFFERS A BALANCE BETWEEN FUNCTIONALITY AND PLAY. THE SECOND FLOOR IS UNIVERSALLY DESIGNED TO INCLUDE ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS, AS WELL AS A RELAXING AND SOOTHING LIVING ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED FOR MR. WARNER, THE CAMP DIRECTOR. BY INCORPORATING AN OPEN CONCEPT THROUGHOUT THE LIVING SPACE, THE DESIGN ALLOWS FOR ENTERTAINING. OVERALL. THIS SPACE WILL INCLUDE GREEN/ENVIRON- MENTALLY FRIENDLY SELECTIONS, AS WELL AS BIOPHILIC ELEMENTS TO CREATE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE INTERIOR SPACE.
